‘Lake Monster’ Filmed In China!

Rumours of a ‘Chinese Nessie’ are rife after reports an underwater monster was spotted emerging from a lake in China.

Officials are believed to be investigating after mobile phone footage appeared to show a shadowy shape lifting its head out of the water.

The eerie video has gone viral on social media with over 5 million views and shows grainy images of what appears to be a beast now known as the “Chinese Nessie”.

Witnesses gasp and scream as the ‘creature’ causes endless ripples on the surface of the lake in Luoping County, which is in China’s south-western Yunnan Province.

The unidentified ‘creature’ reveals part of what looks like its head but quickly disappears below the water surface.

Villagers guessed the ‘animal’ had a much larger body but they did not get a good look at it before it apparently dived back into the lake.

Locals are now lining the edges of the lake in hopes of spotting the Chinese Nessie once more.

Officials are looking into the incident and are eager to dispel the worrying rumours of a waterborne monster.

Residents of the village said the animal could have been a Chinese alligator (Alligator sinensis); however, the endangered reptile only lives in East China in the waters of the Yangtze River.

Officials say it is just an old piece of sack.

A government spokesman said he believed the ripples and the so-called “head” of Chinese Nessie were nothing more than sacks bobbing in the water.

But locals still remain sceptical.
